US $ 20 Billion Syrian Deposits in Lebanese Banks

The Syrian banking community has estimated the volume of Syrian deposits in Lebanese banks at 20 billion dollars, while the Lebanese side is floating a figure by saying that the volume of Syrian deposits in Lebanon is 8 to 30 billion dollars.

Noting that part of these amounts were smuggled during the crisis, including loan funds obtained by the owners of the Syrian banks and converted to dollars and smuggling abroad to settle an important part of them in Lebanese banks.

The Syrian banking policy is aimed at paying Syrian funds abroad to carry out an opposite migration, where a number of encouraging incentives are being formulated for its return.
